Our Mission: Keep Kids Moving

Comprehensive, Compassionate Care

When it comes to musculoskeletal care, children have specialized needs. At Connecticut Children’s, our team of pediatric orthopedists are experts in the treatment of childhood orthopedic conditions from simple to complex, whether it’s setting broken bones or treating congenital and neuromuscular conditions affecting a child’s ability to walk and grow. Our team of board-certified and fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic specialists and surgeons are among the most experienced in the state.

Motion Analysis

Our Center for Motion Analysis is where our orthopedic specialists evaluate how children and adolescents move to maximize their physical abilities and achieve greater health as they grow. Our orthopedic specialists offer services such as Kinematics which is the study of joint motion, Electromyography – Dynamic electromyography (EMG) to examine muscle activity while walking, and measurement of foot pressure distribution under the foot while walking. We have specialized cameras to record a child walking in real-time as they move throughout the lab. The center is also home to research studies on cerebral palsy, club foot, Charcot Marie Tooth disease (CMT), Muscular dystrophy, and Spina bifida.

Walk-In Appointments

Our expert pediatric orthopedic doctors offer walk-in and same-day appointments in Westport, Farmington, Hartford, Glastonbury, Shelton and Danbury locations, Monday – Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Orthopedic Experts

Our collaborative multidisciplinary approach integrates the latest technology, innovation and research to produce the most accurate diagnoses and the best possible outcomes. Our mission is to keep kids moving so they can focus on being kids. Conditions we treat include hip and other foot disorders, muscle disease, gait disorders, fractures, scoliosis and spinal deformities, spina bifida, idiopathic scoliosis, and neuromuscular spine disease. If your treatment plan includes surgery, we perform more than 1,500 surgeries and see over 20,000 children and teens every year.
